The Introduction to Career Development Practice (ICDP) provides intensive pre accredited training in all operational aspects of delivering a quality career development service in a range of settings. The 2 day workshop provides invaluable knowledge, understandings and resources for anyone working with people in career transition. The program will provide training in: the role and responsibilities of career practitioners; career development theory and frameworks; career interviewing; labour market information and issues, diversity, legal and ethical practice and designing career programs; work experience/placement; and the latest resources for effective career development practice.
This training is underpinned by the Professional Standards for Australian Career Development Practitioners (CICA, 2007). In undertaking the Introduction to Career Development Practice (ICDP), participants may contribute to their completion of some assessment tasks within the Certificate IV in Career Development.
This professional learning activity is vital for those new to careers service delivery. Facilitators and presenters are experienced, practising professional career development practitioners.
