Skill Sets CHC41215 Certificate IV in Career Development

The CEAV Institute is pleased to able be able to offer a series of micro-credential Skill Set(s) in the Career Development qualification - CHC41215 Certificate IV in Career Development.  

This full qualification contains 13 units of competency – 8 core and 5 elective units.

If you wish to undertake the whole qualification, which is endorsed by CICA, it would be preferable to undertake the Skill Sets in the timing order above.   However, you can enrol in a Skill Set of your choice, noting the date advertised for the delivery of that Skill Set.

Each unit in each Skill Set is nationally recognized and forms part of CHC41215 Certificate IV in Career Development.  This approach allows you to complete the full qualification over eighteen (18) months or you can select which Skill Set(s) you wish to complete.

Each Skill Set in CHC41215 Certificate IV in Career Development is via a blended approach with two (2) workshops comprising four (4) days delivered via Zoom or face-to-face (covid-19 restrictions permitting). Assessment tasks are designed to apply your learning in your organisation.

For each Skill Set, a non-refundable deposit of $500 must be paid within 7 days of enrolment.

You will be invoiced the total amount owing of $1,000 with a monthly reminder of a $250 payment over four (4) months.

Should a student withdraw after 28 days from Skill Set commencement, no refund will apply.

Skill Set 1:


CHCECD008 Deliver services consistent with a career development framework (C)

The career development framework as outlined in the industry standards.

CHCLEG001 Work legally and ethically (C)

The legal and ethical framework guides the roles and responsibilities of teachers and other workers when teaching, recording and advising on career education in schools.

CHCECD009 - Conduct career guidance interviews (C)

The process for conducting career guidance interviews and working as a case manager in schools to support learners to make informed career decisions.

CHCCOM002 - Use communication to build relationships (C)

Interviewing and communication techniques to establish, build and maintain relationships with students, support staff and other stakeholders based on respect and trust.

Skill Set 2:


CHCYTH011 - Work effectively with young people & their families (E)

Cooperating in mutual agreement on the activities, outcomes and processes of young people’s family members/nominated carers, for the purpose of achieving goals identified in consultation with the young person to address their concerns and/or risks.

CHCECD001 - Analyse and apply information that supports employment and career development (C)

Using the key principles and practices of the Australian career development framework as established in the Australian Blueprint for Career Development.

CHCECD010 - Provide support to people in career transition (C)

Working with clients in career transition to collaboratively implement and monitor a career action plan and to evaluate their satisfaction with the support services provided.

CHCPRP001 - Develop and maintain networks and collaborative partnerships (C)

Identifying networking and collaboration needs and develop formal and informal partnerships to enhance service delivery and improve professional practice.

CHCYTH003 - Support young people to create opportunities in their lives (E)

Assisting young people to identify the challenges and opportunities in their lives and to work towards their goals on an individual or group level.

CHCDIV001 - Work with diverse people (C)

Working respectfully with people from diverse social and cultural groups and situations, including Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.

CHCECD007 - Maximise participation in work by people with disability (E)

Monitoring employment opportunities, assist people with disability to prepare for employment, match jobs to individuals and provide ongoing support.

CHCGRP002 - Plan and Conduct Group Activities (E)

Establish, lead and participate in groups using a collaborative, strengths-based approach.

CHCPRP003 - Reflect on & improve own professional practice (E)

Evaluate and enhance own practice through a process of reflection and ongoing professional development.
